Kinder Kountry Early Education Center is located in a quiet residential setting, nestled among the Oak trees on Sydney Road. The early education center is owned and operated by a husband and wife team who are on premises daily to welcome parents and children, and to offer hands-on support and assistance to their staff.

Kinder Kountry teachers are certified child care professionals; they hold current first aid and CPR certification and exceed the County’s annual training requirements. Each teacher is also trained to use the curriculum for their specific age group, Ages and Stages Developmental Screening and the Environmental Rating Scale, which promotes positive child-teacher interactions and an effective learning environment. The teachers take a sincere interest in each child’s individual needs and personality; care is taken to nurture and develop social and emotional growth as well as cognitive and motor skills. Most importantly, all Kinder Kountry staff are loving, caring individuals who understand the importance of early education – each child in their care is encouraged to grow to their full potential and realize the joy of learning.

Commitment to Quality

Kinder Kountry is licensed by the State of Florida through Hillsborough County Child Care Licensing. Our License is CHC 431238. Licensing inspections for any center are available for public viewing on the Hillsborough County Child Care Licensing website. We strive to meet or exceed these standards and invite you to view our licensing records at www.hillsboroughcounty.org/childcarelicensing.

Kinder Kountry is contracted with the School Readiness Program and the State's VPK program (Voluntary Prekindergarten). Look for more detailed information on these programs in our Programs section.

We are also enrolled in the "Quality Counts For Kids" Program of the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County which promotes and recognizes quality improvements in child care centers throughout Hillsborough County. You can find more information about Quality Counts for Kids on their website www.elchc.org

Kinder Kountry conducts ASQ (Ages and Stages Questionnaire) screening on all children in the center. Kinder Kountry Staff are trained to use the ASQ Screening Tool. Parents' involvement is an important part of the screening process. Children will be screened only with parent permission.

Screening is initiated in the child's classroom setting using observation, questioning and testing techniques. To ensure accuracy the director solicits information from parents to help complete the form and add any other developmental information regarding their child. The screening process is really a partnership between home and school. ASQ forms and information are kept in confidential files in each child's portfolio. After screening is completed the director meets individually with parents to share results of the screening.

Assessment of Children's Progress

The more we know about children's academic, social, and emotional development the more we are able to meet their needs. Some of the ways we keep track of children's progress are:

  • Daily observations..recording children's actions as they play with each other, participate in activities, use language, etc.
  • Samples of children's drawings, paintings and writing attempts.
  • Record children's comments and assessments of their own progress.
  • Solicit parents for their concerns and feedback about their children's strengths.
  • Progress assessments using the curriculum assessment tool.

Health and Safety

MEALS & SNACKS KINDER KOUNTRY provides all snacks and meals served at the center; all foods and portions meet USDA Guidelines. We serve breakfast until 8:00 am, lunch and a morning and an afternoon snack to all enrolled children. Parents are required to notify the director of any allergies or special diets.

INDOOR ENVIRONMENT Our classrooms are purposefully arranged to meet ERS (Environmental Rating Scale) criteria. Kinder Kountry adheres to ERS standards for classroom furnishings and equipment, room arrangements and teacher-child interactions. Teachers are trained in ERS standards pertaining to their age group.

OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT Kinder Kountry offers four different playground areas to accommodate children's age and developmental needs, one of which is an enclosed, screen area to ensure fun and safe outdoor play in all kinds of weather.

STAFF Thorough screening of all staff is required by Child Care Licensing;

All staff hold current First Aid and CPR certification. Teachers work hard to ensure that children learn about developing health routines (hand washing, preventing the spread of germs, nutrition, etc.) and good safety habits (using the equipment properly, emergency drills, etc.).

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES KINDER KOUNTRY takes precautions to ensure child safety at all times. We require all Staff to be certified in First Aid, CPR and Universal Precautions. We also have an Emergency Procedure Guide, which addresses and provides for every possible emergency situation that may occur. Our staff is trained and review this guide twice a year.

Kinder Kountry conducts Fire Drills with Staff and children once a month, and Tornado/Severe Storm Drills twice annually.
